# Lowery Joins Majec
Don Lowery has joined Majec Video Productions, Shawnee Mission, Kansas, as producer/writer. Majec is a producer of video programs specifically for the industrial and construction fields, to communicate operation, maintenance, training and safety of systems and equipment.
Lowery, a recent retiree of the Target Products Division of Federal-Mogul Corporation, has over forty years experience in construction and industrial fields.

# Patent Acquires Baker Scaffolding System
Patent Scaffolding Company (Fort Lee, NJ) has acquired the Baker Scaffold system, a portable steel scaffold, widely used by electricians, plumbers, painters and other building trades.
The original Baker Scaffold, since its development 40 years ago, has become the industry standard.
# HONOR SWENSEN

# Holley Court Parking Facility Wins Gold Medal
Winner of the Illinois Indiana Masonry Council Gold Medal Award was the Holley Court Parking Facility, Oak Park, Ill. Above Donald Hacki, president of the architectural firm of Loebl Schlossman & Hackl, with Hans Lagoni and Roger Heerema proudly accept the award from Edward Uhlir, president, Chicago Chapter American Institute of Architects, along with Harold Kochan and Ed Smith, Hansen & Hempel Co. mason contractor. Charles Braun, Job Foreman, also received an award.
# NCMA's Branham Retires
Dick Branham, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for National Concrete Masonry Association, retired on March 1. Dick joined NCMA in 1960 when they were headquartered in downtown Chicago. In 1962 he was named Director of Marketing and in 1973 was elected to his present position, Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
During his tenure with NCMA, Branham supervised nearly every promotional effort in which NCMA was involved. From the outset, he guided NCMA's flagship promotional effort, PICTORIAL, from an infrequently published, low circulation magazine, to a full color, monthly magazine, serving over 30,000 readers throughout the world.
Dick was a devoted NCMA staff member who gave fully of his time and talents in promoting the masonry industry. Dick, enjoy your retirement. You deserve it, and we'll all miss you greatly.

# OCBA Elects Officers
The Annual Meeting of the Ohio Concrete Block Assn. was held March 31-April 1, 1987 at the Hilton Inn, East in Columbus, Ohio.
Officers installed were: Charles Crites, Harry Wellnitz Company (Columbus), President; Fred Smith, Fostoria Concrete Products (Fostoria), First Vice President; John Crawford, Ohio Concrete Products (Zanesville), Second Vice President; Carol Quinby, Sec.-Treas.
Trustees elected to a two year term were: John Crawford, Zanesville; Charles Crites, and Michael Padovan, Columbus; Wm. Drechler, Toledo, and Robert Wilson, Morrow. Richard Roberts elected to fill the unexpired term (1 year) of Douglas Ebling.
