# Distinguished Service Award
A South Dakota businessman and a Canadian researcher have been honored by the American Concrete Institute for their contributions to the technical activities of the Institute. James L. Cope and David G. Manning received Delmar L. Bloem Distinguished Service Awards during ACT's March 22-27 convention in San Antonio, Texas. The award is given in memory of the late Delmar Bloem who was active in the technical affairs of ACI.
# New ACI Officers
A structural engineer from San Diego, CA, has been elected the 64th president of the American Concrete Institute. T. E. (Gene) Northrup was installed during the annual convention in San Antonio, TX. Northrup replaced Walter E. Kunze, who will remain on the Board of Directors.
Paul Zia was elected to serve as vice president with four new members of the Board. They are: John A. Bickley, James O. Jirsa, H. S. Lew and Dean Stephan. They join 14 others on the Institute's Board.
# Honorary Members Named
An architect from Chicago, Illinois, a French engineer, and a New Zealand professor have been named Honorary Members of the American Concrete Institute.
Bertrand Goldberg of Chicago, Jean Muller of Paris, France, and Thomas Paulay of the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand, were accorded ACI's highest honor during the Institute's March 22-27 convention in San Antonio, Texas.

The American Concrete Institute announces their new 1987 publications catalog. Containing over 325 listings, the new ACI catalog offers access to "The World's Most Complete Technical Library." Publications available include those on concrete technology, structural design, and concrete construction as well as all ACI standards, codes and specifications. Also listed are design handbooks, monographs, symposia, bibliographies, and special publications.
