# EBA Elects Sabia
The Board of Directors of the Employing Bricklayers Association of Delaware Valley has elected new officers for a two year term. They are: John J. Sabia, president; Donald Grimme', vice president: Thomas Whitlock, treasurer and Dennia Allen, secretary.
Board of Directors elected to a two year term are: Ken Burton, Don Jeffers, John McAndrew and Glen Nolfi. Also members of the Board are: Sam Agresta, Kelly Markegene, Eugene Lapore and John J. Sabia.
# New NLRB Chairman
President Reagan designated James M. Stephens to serve as chairman of the National Labor Relations Board, replacing Donald L. Dotson. Stephens has been on the NLRB since 1985.
Mr. Stephens, 41, left an Akron, Ohio law firm in 1977 to become a Republican staff member on the House Education & Labor Committee. He served as counsel to the Senate Labor & Human Resources Committee under Chairman Orrin Hatch from 1981 until his appointment to NLRB. His term expires in August of 1990.
Designation of an NLRB member as chairman does not require Senate confirmation.

Cynthia Vincent has been named Western Regional Sales Representative for Trans Ceramics Ltd. U.S. Brick has acquired Moland-Drysdale of Henderson, NC. The plant will be known as the Drysdale Plant of Boren Clay Products.

# ASC Plans Legislative Conference
Making Congress aware of the specialty contractors' legislative agenda is the goal of the 1988 Associated Specialty Contractors' Legislative Conference. On April 24, 1988, members of eight associations that represent the nation's major construction specialty contractors will begin a 3-day meeting in Washington, DC. This fourth annual ASC National Legislative Conference will concentrate on presenting positions of the industry on key legislation now before the House and Senate.
This Conference, "Subcontractors On The Hill: Making A Difference," will include presentations of legislative views by leading members of the House and Senate on such key construction-related issues as Prompt Pay for Subcontractors, Mandated Employee Benefits, Employee Health and Hazards, and Presidential Politics. It will also feature face-to-face meetings in which the contractors who attend will be able to present their views on specific legislation to their own Senators and Representatives.
This 1988 ASC Legislative Conference will be held at the J. W. Marriott Hotel in Washington as well as at the House and Senate office buildings on Capitol Hill. MCAA Chapters have received advance registration information on this meeting.
# NEIL FRASER NAMED TO ONTARIO LABOUR RELATIONS BOARD
Neil Fraser, for 16 years the Executive Director of the Canadian Masonry Contractors Association, resigned on December 31st to become the management representative on the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Fraser also served as director of the Ontario Masonry Contractors Association, Metro Masonry Contractors Association and the Masonry Industry Employers Council of Ontario.
Fraser left a similar post in British Columbia in 1971 to become the first full time director of the CMCA. He assumed his new position with the Labour Board on January 4, 1988.
# EXPAND "TAKE TWO" SAFETY PROGRAM
Du Pont Safety Services has added 12 videotapes to its "Take Two... For Safety" training course. The program builds positive safety attitudes and awareness by emphasizing the need to "take two minutes" to think through a job before it is begun.
The seven to 10-minute tapes use docu-dramas to depict realistic workplace situations and the incorrect and correct methods of performing a job. Each tape and follow-up discussion forms a safety meeting unit.
Topics covered in the new tapes include: The who, what, why, and how of unsafe acts. Constructive intervention when an unsafe act is seen. continued on page 28
# MCAH Elects Officers
The Mason Contractors Association of Hawaii has elected new officers to serve during the coming year. Elected President of the statewide organization was Richard Killebrew, of RLK Masonry, Inc. and serving as Vice-President will be Harry Cornish, Ono Construction. Inc. The newly elected Treasurer is Leonard Song. Leonard S. Song, Inc., while serving as secretary will be Stanley Wada, Quality General, Inc.
The directors for the construction organization will be Rodney Kaichi, K Masonry, Inc.; Dennis Enomoto, Dura/Constructors Inc.: Joe Hanzawa, G. Hanzawa, Ltd.; Allan Nakasone. Tokunaga Masonry, Inc.; Tony Saito, S. Yogi Masonry Inc.; and Harry Ushijima. C & B Masonry. Inc. Peter Sperry of the Consolidated Corporation will serve as the neighbor island director for the year.
All officers and directors were installed at the Annual Installation Banquet on Saturday, January 23, 1988 beld at the Hilton Hawaiian Village featuring the Honolulu Boys Choir.
