Eve to Head ICED

The Farm and Industrial Equipment Institute recently announced the election by member companies of JCB Inc. President, Roger Eve to head its Industrial Construction Equipment Division.

Mr. Eve, who served the association for the past year as vice-president, is also a Director of FIEI, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Construction Industry Manufacturers Association (CIMA). As president of ICED, Mr. Eve will assume a term of one year.

ICED is the trade association for manufacturers of high volume, mid-sized construction and materials handling equipment, such as backhoe loaders, rough terrain forklifts, industrial wheel tractors and skid steer loaders.

The association meets formally twice a year for summer and winter meetings and provides a full time staff to handle administrative duties. They operate through 12 councils that report directly to the board of directors. ICED also provides a statistical exchange for manufacturers to evaluate market trends and potentials.

Mr. Eve said that "JCB is proud to play our part alongside other well known manufacturers to address the issues currently affecting our industry." He also said that it's important for the industry to "take the lead in setting standards for user safety as well as making a positive contribution towards the environment."

There are two kinds of failures: the person who will do nothing he is told, and the man who will do nothing else.
