Meet MCAA's New Officers ...
RICHARD C. FELICE
Vice President
For Dick Felice, hard work, dedication and a positive approach have been the main ingredients in achieving success as a mason contractor. Dick started in the construction industry as a laborer with Local 177 in Des Moines, IA, in 1954. He went on to serve a four-year apprenticeship and became a journeyman bricklayer.
In 1961 he formed a partnership with Dale Forrest and established Forrest & Associate, Inc., over which he now presides as president.
Over the past 29 years Forrest & Associate, Inc. has become one of the largest masonry subcontractors in Iowa, doing commercial, industrial and institutional work, as well as building restoration. Examples of their top-notch craftsmanship can be seen throughout the city of Des Moines and the state of Iowa.
Dick has been a member of MCAA for 18 years, serving as Iowa state chairman for 6 years. Prior to his election as vice president, he served as Secretary and Treasurer, and as regional vice president for 8 years. He is co-chairman of MCAA's Masonry Marketing Systems Committee and was a member of IMI's Research & Development Program Board. On the local level, he was a co-founder of the Masonry Institute of Iowa, established in 1975. He now serves as treasurer of the Institute.
Dick and his wife, Elaine, have six children: Ted, 31; Mary 30; Kim, 28; Vickie, 27; Kathy, 24; and Rick, 23. They are the proud grandparents of 8 grandchildren.
RICHARD C. MATTHEWS
Secretary
As with many other executives in the mason contracting field, Dick Matthews began learning his trade from his father and uncle, both of whom were bricklayers. Today he is the president of KMCO, Inc., Miamisburg. OH, a leading masonry firm specializing in commercial, industrial and refractory work throughout the Dayton area.
After graduating from high school in 1951, Dick spent three years in the Marine Corps. After discharge from the service, he worked for Hoying Masonry as vice president and general manager for 10 years. He then formed M & D Masonry, a partnership, which was later merged into KMCO.
Before being elected secretary of MCAA, he served as the association's treasurer, was regional vice president for eight years and Ohio state chairman for four years. He also served on the Association's Material Handling and Membership Committees and currently is a member of the Masonry Summit Board.
Dick currently serves on the IMI Market Development Program Board, is president of MCA of Dayton and chairman of the Masonry Institute of Dayton.
Dick is an avid sportsman and can often be found boating and fishing. Dick and his wife Virginia, have two children, 15 year old Stacey and Gary 23, a graduate of Sinclair College in Dayton. Following graduation, Gary joined his father in the business.

Treasurer
L. C. (Lenny) Pardue, Jr., elected to serve as MCAA's Treasurer, is well known in the masonry industry in the Pacific northwest for his activities in promoting masonry and his efforts on behalf of MCAA at the local and international levels. He is president of L. C. Pardue, Inc., Taulatin, Oregon.
Following graduation from Clark College in Portland, Lenny joined the family business, which was founded by his father in 1953. He assumed the presidency of the firm when his father retired in 1976.
A 20 year member of MCAA, Lenny was regional vice president (1976 to 1988), was trustee for the Oregon Masonry Institute for 11 years, and since 1979, was trustee to the Northwest Bricklayers Pension Trust. He currently serves as an IMI Research & Development Board Member and Apprenticeship and Training Board Member, and was president of the Oregon Masonry Institute and is chairman of the MCA of Portland Negotiating Committee, which represents the northern half of Oregon and five southwest counties of Washington.
Lenny is the chairman of the MCAA Panel Committee and is past president (two terms) of the MCA Portland Chapter.
Lenny has expanded his business to cover the states of Washington, Alaska, California and Nevada and has current jobs in various areas of Oregon. Reno, Palo Alto and Los Angeles.
Lenny and wife Linda have two children: Karen, 14 and Bill, 19 who is now working in the family business.
