On Monday morning, the second session of the Conference was called to order by President Hatch, who called upon John Heslip, President of the National Concrete Masonry Association and Chairman of the Council for Masonry Research. Mr. Heslip reviewed in detail many of the activities of the CMR, as well as the joint cooperative programs between NCMA and MCAA.
The second speaker was Dr. S. K. Ghosh, Director, Engineered Structures and Codes, Portland Cement Association. The title of his presentation was "Flexural Bond Strength and Water Permeance of Masonry." Dr. Ghosh described in detail the tests run at the Portland Cement Association, and their findings.
Dee Brown, MCAA Immediate Past President, who is a member of the National Council on Vocational Education, presented a discussion on the objectives, purposes and activities of this Council, following which the group adjourned to the exhibition hall for the final day of the exhibit.
At 3:30 P.M., President Hatch called the MCAA Executive Board Meeting to order, and many items before the body were reviewed and acted upon.
The Tuesday morning workshops proved to be one of the more popular sessions held during the entire Conference. Workshop #1, "Productivity at the Job Site," was conducted by James J. Adrian, Professor of Civil Engineering and Construction at Brad-
