Day 3 Saturday, February 8
MCAA Committee Meetings. Numerous Committees will formally meet to discuss topics of concern.
8:00am until 4:00pm MCAA Registration desk will be open for registration.
8:30am MCAA "Spouse With Young Children" Character Breakfast. This breakfast is geared for the families with children and will feature cartoon characters from Universal Studios who will be available to meet and greet those attending this special event. The breakfast will be the first formal event for the "Spouse With Young Children" program. Cost for the overall Childrens program is $75.00 for MCAA Member children, $40.00 for MCAA Spouses attending the Childrens program. Price for Non-MCAA members children is $100.00 & $70.00 for Non-Member Spouses. (This program is separate from the Spouse Program.)
8:30am MCAA Officers Meeting. MCAA Officers will meet to review Association activites and other business matters.
10:00am "Historic Winter Park" This Spouse Program trip to unique Little Europe" shopping, a haven for boutique shoppers and gourmet shoppers, includes a 1 hour open air boat cruise.
10:15am MCAA Workshops will run concurrently. The three workshops offered will cover topics such as OSHA changes and how contractors can better deal with local OSHA inspectors, ASTM Code changes, and a workshop dealing with key legal questions facing the mason contractor.
1:30pm MCAA Annual Meeting. Issues facing the association will be discussed. MCAA members only will be admitted.
7:00pm Masonry Expo Opening Reception. Over 1,000 Expo attendees will attend this kick-off reception. This event will officially take place outside of the Peabody Hotel. Transportation will be provided from the Peabody to the Expo Reception.
Day 4 Sunday, February 9
9:00am to 11:00am Masonry Expo Seminars. These Seminars will be held in the Orange County Convention Center.
No. 1, "How to Comply with the ACI/ASCE 530 Specification." Speakers: Mario Catani and Don Grant. Cost: $50.00
No. 2, "The Role of Mortar in Masonry Consruction". Speaker: Al Isberner. Cost $50.00
9:00am-2:00pm MCAA Registration desk will be open.
11:30am Masonry Expo Keynote Speaker Luncheon. Mr. Willard Scott, the nationally recognized weatherman on NBC's Today Program, will be the featured speaker at this year's luncheon. Mr. Scott began reporting the weather on Today.on March 10, 1980. He has not only distinguished himself by announcing the weather from unique events all over the country, he has been a tireless campaigner for numerous social organizations. Price for the luncheon is $35.00 per person.
1:30pm-5:30pm Masonry Expo Exhibits Open. Over 250 Masonry Industry key exhibitors show their products and services.
1:30pm-5:30pm International Bricklaying Trials. During the Expo Show hours on Sunday & Monday, four of this country's best young masons will be competing for the right to represent the United States at the International Bricklaying Competition scheduled for Taiwan in July, 1993. These four contestants were selected from the medal winners at the 1990-91 VICA U.S. Skill Olympics Brick Masonry Competition.
2:30pm MCAA "Spouse With Young Children" Pool Party. (weather permitting) Fun for all will be the order of the day as both MCAA Children and Spouses will have fun in the sun with special games planned in the pool. An alternate event will be scheduled in case of poor weather.
