Pete Schneider, chairman of the board and president of St. Joe Brick, was elected state representative of the newly formed District 19 in Louisiana. He won with fifty-seven percent of the vote, defeating four opponents.
Paul Roblee has been named North American salesmanager by Trak International. With Trak for four years, he will be fully responsible for the company's sales efforts in the U.S. and Canada.
Chris Attaway has been promoted to the position of vice president of sales and marketing by AA Manufacturing. Previously the company's international salesmanager, he will now oversee all of the company's sales and marketing programs.
Robert M. Rayner has been named president of the construction materials group of the Essroc Corporation, one of the largest cement and construction materials manufacturers in North America. Rayner joined the firm in 1988 as vice president and chief financial officer. His new position puts him in charge of four operating divisions, including all aggregate operations in Canada and the U.S.
Floyd Lumley, distributor sales manager for Acme Brick Company retired at the end of December, after forty years of service to the brick industry. For the past thirteen years, he has directed Acme's distributor business. Scotty Freebairn, Acme's regional manager in Little Rock, has assumed Lumley's position, in addition to retaining direction of the company's retail sales offices in Arkansas, Louisiana and Tennessee.
Robert Perozynski has joined Acme Brick Company's Little Rock based distributor sales operation. He will live and work out of the Chicago area with company distributors in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Canada. He was formerly with Holman Brick in the Chicago area. Burdean Thompson has been appointed operations manager of distributor sales for Acme in Little Rock. She was formerly sales coordinator of the company's Perla plant in Arkansas.
Walter M. O'Shea has been named an area salesmanager within Huls America's construction chemicals unit. Formerly with Bill Fisher Enterprises, he will be responsible for all east coast sales of the firm's silane based concrete and masonry protection agents.
Johnsie Beck, marketing manager of building materials for W. R. Bonsal Company, manufacturer of specialty concrete products utilized in commercial construction, has been named to the board of directors for the School of Design Foundation for North Carolina State University at Raleigh.
