CHANGES GROWTH

Simon Whalley has been appointed plant manager for Red-land Brick's KF Plant in East Windsor Hill, Connecticut. Whalley will assume responsibility over all KF production functions.

Robert J. Fien, president and CEO of Stone Construction Equipment has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the National Workforce Assistance Collaborative and to the board of directors of the Construction Industry Manufacturers Association.

Dow Corning Corporation has named Watkins Concrete Block Company, Omaha, Nebraska and Reimers Kaufman Concrete Products Company, Lincoln, Nebraska to represent its line of silicone sealants.

United Chemical Technologies has purchased the Silanes and Silicones Catalog business along with specified small scale commercial products business from Huls America. Included in the sale is the Huls America Bristol, Pennsylvania plant.

Lynne M. Woodworth has been appointed vice president of marketing for Stone Construction Equipment. With this appointment, Woodworth also becomes an officer of Stone.

Custom Building Products has contracted a joint venture with Interceramic to expand the companies' distribution network in Mexico. The venture, called Adhensivos y Boquillas, will include a new plant to augment the 50,000 square foot facility in Chihuahua.

The Masonry Institute has named the following business leaders to serve on its board of directors in 1994: John Lucidi, United Materials and Services; Michael Mock, Lehigh Portland Cement; Harry Newman, Bet-son Block and Products; James C. Davis, United Masonry; Anthony J. Izzo, Genco; Robert R. Loun, Maryland Clay Products; Stanley B. Meushaw, Stanley Meushaw and Associates; and Pat Poole, Potomac Valley Brick and Supply.

Timothy Herzog has been promoted Sacramento, California branch manager, Patrick Collar, Concord, California branch manager, Wil Massengill Savannah, Georgia branch manager, and Fred J. Daniels, III, Pennsauken, New Jersey branch manager for Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation.

Badger R. Bazen Company of Florence County, South Carolina has finalized its acquisition of the assets of the Lull Corporation. Bazen was the highest bidder in the auction sale held November 2, 1993 in Minneapolis. They are making plans for significant investment in people, plant improvements and products.

New York State Concrete Masonry Association has elected their 1994 slate of officers. Neal S. Spevack, president of Smithtown Concrete Products, will serve as chairman of the board with Daniel Fricano, sales manager of Barnes and Cone as chairman elet. Norbert J. Rappl, president of Comac Builder's Supply Corporation has been elected treasurer.

Julia Mueser has joined the staff of the National Concrete Masonry Association as manager of landscape products. In this capacity she will manage NCMA activities concerned with both concrete pavers and segmental retaining walls.

Robert F. Allman, president of R. Allman Incorporated, a St. Louis masonry construction firm, has been elected president of the Mason Contractors Association of St. Louis.

Heatilator Incorporated has purchased the Dovre brand of cast iron woodstoves and fireplaces for North and South America from Dovre Industries. Heatilator will now assemble and sell Dovre products from its Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, facility.

Sanford K. Lauderback has been appointed vice president of research and development coordination for Huls America.

Thomas I. Young, past president of the Construction Specifications Institute, has been elected to a three year term on the board of directors for the National Institute of Building Sciences.

John M. Van Aken, former senior project manager at the Croxton Collaborative architect firm, has joined Brennan Beer Gorman Architects as senior designer.
