Rick Muth, president and chief executive officer of Orco Block Company, Stanton, California, has been voted chairman-elect of the National Concrete Masonry Association.
Mark Nowak, sales and marketing manager of Morton Polymer Systems, Chicago, Illinois, was appointed associate director of the Sealant Waterproofing and Restoration Institute.
Jim Riach, president and manager of Clifford Masonry, a leading masonry firm working with natural stone, prefabricated masonry panel systems and historical restoration, has been appointed president of the Construction Safety Association of Ontario.
Ridgeway Haines was appointed supervisor of field operation at The Powell Corporation, a construction company located in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. He will be responsible for examining the engineering and architectural plans to see that they comply with local building codes.
Paul Wienke of Kirchner Industries, Bridgeton, Missouri has completed his term as chairman of the board of governors of the Missouri Concrete Association. The Association is a statewide leader for the concrete industry and its numbers include the producers of ready mixed concrete, concrete masonry and interlocking pavers, as well as pre-cast concrete products.
Chemline, Chemstar Lime and Mid-America Lime will now operate in its eastern and western divisions as Chemical Lime Company. The old names will no longer be used, except where needed to identify brand name products or services. In addition to the name change David Reilly has been appointed president and chief operating officer. Jim Ehle has been appointed president of the eastern division, Fort Worth, Texas and Robert Derks has been named president of the western division, Scottsdale, Arizona. Larry Warner has been appointed to the new position of senior vice president of manufacturing.
Mark Solebello has been named regional sales manager for Stone Construction Equipment. He will be responsible for the district sales managers covering New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas and Missouri.
Doctor Klaus Schrage has been named executive vice president of Division II, specialty chemicals and polymers at Huls America, Piscataway, New Jersey. He will oversee all research and development, marketing, sales and production activities related to this division.
Robert J. Firneis, R.A. has established an architectural office, Robert J. Firneis Architect, in Middle Village, New York. He was formerly with M.J. Macaluso and Associates.
The Construction Industry Workforce Foundation has elected new officers for 1994. President William K. Wakefield; vice president Denise Norberg of Gust A. Norberg & Son of Chicago, Illinois, representing the National Association of Women in Construction; treasurer Ben Houston of TD Industries of Dallas, Texas, representing the Associated Builders and Contractors; and secretary David G. Miller of Buckeye Electrical Construction and Maintenance of Newark, Ohio, representing the American Subcontractors Association. Also elected to serve on the board of directors were: Joe Tice of Simpson Electric Company of Odenton, Maryland, representing the Independent Electrical Contractors; Al Schifano of Sundt Corporation of Tucson, Arizona, representing the Associated General Contractors of America; and Joseph Julian of James Julian Incorporated of Wilmington, Delaware, representing the American Road and Transportation Builders Association.
The Masonry Institute Supplier Promotional Trust has elected the following local business leaders to serve as trustees for 1994: Peter B. Hoyt, Betco Block and Products, Manassas, Virginia, James B. Mock, L.C. Smith Incorporated, Alexandria, Virginia, Alan Richardson, Potomac Valley Brick and Supply, Rockville, Maryland, Peggy Wine, Glen-Gery, Manassas, Virginia.
The Mason Contractors Association of St. Louis have installed the following officers: Robert F. Allman, president: William A. Klaric, vice president; John L. Spencer, secretary, and Douglas A. Nichols, treasurer. Installed as trustees were: J. Paul Finder, Brian Grant, Robert M. Heitkamp, Jr., Danny R. O'Very, and John J. Smih, Jr. Installed as members of the arbitration board were: William G. Cartlidge, Donald C. Grant, Ronald F. Pfleger, Kenneth M. Skaggs and John J. Smith, Sr.

Kyle Barousse has been promoted to north Houston branch manager for Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation. He will be responsible for all branch operations from sales to the service department.
Gene Lackey, district sales manager of Acme Brick Company's Texas office, has won the company's 1993 President's Award.
