James C. Myers has been named associate/vice president by Simpson Gumpertz and Heger, Arlington, Massachusetts firm of building technology specialists.
Raymond J. Blesener, has been elected president of the Society of Registered Architects for 1965. He's a general partner and principal of Blesener Dahlberg Architects, Duluth, Minnesota.
Paul C. Breeze has joined the American Concrete Institute as managing director of engineering, and Peter J. Steiner has joined as director of education. Breeze, formerly with Stresscon Corporation, replaced Ward R. Malisch. Steiner, formerly with the Portland Cement Association, replaced Willliam D. Palmer.
John Chrysler has been appointed executive director of the Masonry Institute of America, succeeding James E. Amrhein, who has retired. Chrysler was formerly director of technical services. Amrhein will continue to serve MIA as a consultant.
R. P. Bud Vinall has been named general secretary-treasurer of the Laborers International Union of North America, replacing James J. Norwood, who died last October. In addition, Armand E. Sabitoni has been named to fill the vice president's slot on the general executive board.
The center, said to be the first of-its-kind, showcases brick styles and colors in life-size homefronts and other residential vignettes.
Joseph Flumara has been named manager of laboratory and training services and Arthur Bernardon has been named associate customer service manager by the Rawiplug Company. Fiumara, with the company since 1986, was formerly laboratory manager. Bernardon was formerly director of computer operations for Charles Librett Hardware.
Brennan Beer Gorman/Architects, New York, has announced the promotions of Michael P. Antonik, Paul Bellisario and Marlon Fernandez to associates.
Jackie Talton has joined Perma-Grain Products as their manufacturer's representative for Oklahoma. The company also appointed W. D. Distributors of Cincinnati, Ohio as a full line distributor for western and southern Ohio.
Connie Kitzinger has been named director of education by the Mason Contractors Association of America. As such she will oversee various aspects of contractor education, mason training and recruitment on a national basis. Kitzinger was recently a program manager for the Academy of Pediatrics. Prior to that, she was an adjunct faculty member in the communications division of the College of DuPage.
National Block and Ready Mix Company of Westland, Michigan is nearing completion of a $2.7-million expansion of its block manufacturing operation. The new facility, coupled with existing production in Westland and the recent purchase of Karber Custom Block in St. Johns, Michigan gives National production nearing 12-million units annually.
Joseph H. Fuhrman has been named general manager of specialty and fine chemicals by Huls America, replacing Robert Morlino, who has been appointed vice pesident and general manager of the colorants, coatings and additives business. Furhrman has been with Huls since 1989.
Dawn Kay has been appointed director of meetings and conventions by the Mason Contractors Association of America. She will be responsible for planning and coordinating all MCAA meetings, including site selection, negotiating facility contractors, contracting meals, audiovisual and speaker travel. Kay, will also be responsible for prorgramming and exhibit sales for the MCAA annual conference and Masonry Expo as well as promotion and marketing of those events. Formerly assistant to the executive director, she has been with the association for thirteen years.
Harcros Pigments has announced expansion of their synthetic iron oxide facility in East St. Louis, Ilinois. The expansion is designed to produce 5-million pounds per year of yellow and black iron cxides.
Ron Butts and Jim Hines have been named district managers by Stone Construction Equipment. Butts' territory includes Kentucky, Michigan and parts of Indiana and Ohio. Hines territory includes West Virginia and parts of Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Boral Bricks has opened a 3,000 square foot exterior design center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Denise R. Norberg, president of Gust A. Norberg and Son, Chicago, and ASA's first vice president, has been elected president of the American Subcontractors Association.
James Keeven and Jay Jacobsmeyer have joined Arco Construction Company, Brentwood, Missouri, design-build general contracting and construction management firm.
Renee Atkins has been named marketing services specialist by the Brick Association of North Carolina. In the newly created position, she will work primarily with the association's marketing communications programs for member manufacturers, the construction industry and members.
Boral Bricks has announced a $1.3-million renovation and update of its Gleason, Tennessee plant, primarily including production equipment upgrade. With the equipment upgrade, plant capacity will increase 25 percent.
Brock White Company, a St. Paul, Minnesota distributor of specialty construction products, announced that its Canadian subsidiary, Brock White Canada, has acquired the assets of Steels Industrial Products in Regina and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Gand Fuller Bartells Distribution in Regina. Brock White's lines include concrete accessories and repair materials, waterproofing, sealants, masonry accessories, geotextiles, insulation and job supplies.
Stan Askren has been named vice president of marketing for Heatilator. He previously served as a staff vice president of Hon Industries, Hestilator's parent company.

Dana Davis has been named national salesmanager of Grace Masonry Products, a unit of Grace Construction. Davis, who was salesmanager for concrete products in Pleasanton, California, will be based in the company's offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Sherwin-Williams has acquired the outstanding shares of FLR Paints. Located in Bradenton, Florida, FLR is noted for its masonry and concrete stain and sealers.
Debbie Morris, formerly manager of meetings and conventions, has been promoted to director of meetings and conventions by the National Concrete Masonry Association, replacing Chris Thiel who left to join the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Joseph Gascoigne has stepped down as executive director of the Construction Specifications Institute, due to health reasons. He will remain as executive director emeritus in an advisory capacity. Gascoigne is succeeded by Gregory Balestrero, former executive director of the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
