CHANGES GROWTH

Dave Willis, co-founder and vice chairman of the Board for FMI, management consultants to the construction industry, is adopting a new role within the firm. After 43 years with FMI, Mr. Willis will be retiring from his Board of Director duties in order to concentrate on practice management for FMI's Zero- Injury Process consulting practice. Mr. Willis opened FMI's Tampa office in 1965, and has been the leader of FMI's Quality & Productivity Improvement Group.

SHADY GROVE, PA - R. Craig Minnich has been appointed Director of Industrial Crane Sales at Grove Worldwide. He will be responsible for sales and marketing of Grove's industrial crane product line. Minnich began his career with Grove in 1966. Most recently, he held the position of District Manager for Grove Crane. He and his wife, Joanne, reside in Fayetteville, PA.

The PA Concrete Masonry Association, during its annual convention at Skytop Lodge, installed officers for 1996 and 1997. Elected President was Donald W. Dunlap, General Manager of Faddis Concrete Products, Downingtown, PA. An Alumnus of Franklin & Marshall, Don came to Faddis after a career in cement sales and management. He is a native of Lancaster and currently resides there with his wife Barbara. Other officers installed were Joe Dufour of Rennekamp Supply, Pittsburgh, Vice Pres.; Paul Pepe, Keystone Cement Co., Bath, PA, Associate Vice Pres.; Gary Nouse, Kilcoin Block, Bedford, PA, Secretary and Vernon Swartley, Keystone Lintel Co., Quakertown, PA, Treasurer; John Morgan, Beavertown Block, serves as Board chairman.

Powers Fastening Inc., formerly The Rawiplug Co., Inc., will soon open this new 140,000 square-foot assemblage and manufacturing facility in Brewster, N.Y., to meet the demand for its expanding line of concrete, masonry and adhesive anchors marketed under the Powers Rawl brand. The Putnam County facility is located on a 19-acre site less than 30 miles from the company's corporate headquarters and manufacturing complex in New Rochelle.

Scott McNear, President of BRIC (Brick Institute of California) recently announced that BRIC has relocated to the Masonry Industry Center building, 2550 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles. An arrangement with the Masonry Institute of Arnerica (MIA) has been made and the MIA staff, John Chrysler, Jim Amrhein, Tom Escobar and Petra Stadtfeld, will be available to provide service on behalf of BRIC. McNear also announced that BRIC plans to hold an Awards Program in the fall of 1997, develop a BRIC website and that by the end of 1996, BRIC will develop addi- tional long range promotion goals aimed at enhancing the California brick industry.

Pittsburgh Corning Corporation today announced that its Board of Director selected Donald E. Schlegel as President and Chief Executive Officer of the corporation, effective August 1, 1996. He also has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Pittsburgh Coming Europe and will have manage- ment responsibility for Nippon Pittsburgh Corning and Pittsburgh Corning International Sales Corporation. He suc ceeds Charles A. Francik, who is retiring after twelve years with the company, having served the last five years as President and Chief Executive Offficer.

The Board of Directors of Gehl Company, West Bend, Wisconsin, has elected William D. Gehl as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Gehl continues to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, positions he has held since joining the Company in November, 1992. The Company is headquartered in West Bend, WI with manufacturing facili- ties in West Bend, WI, Lebanon, PA, and Madison and Yankton, SD.

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has moved its world wide headquarters to the Washington, DC area "ASCE needed to have a greater presence at the seat of Federal power and the crossroads of global commerce to give civil engineers more access to and impact on the Washington public policy arena, and provide even closer cooperation with fel- low professional and technical societies," said ASCE President Charles A. Parthurn. The Society is moving nearly 200 staff positions to a 107,000-square- foot, 6-floor building in Reston, Va, from its former location in New York City. The $8-million building was purchased through the fund-raising efforts of the ASCE Foundation. ASCE's new offices are located at 1801 Alexander Bell Drive, Reston, VA, 20191-4400. Lynne Woodworth, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Stone Construction Equipment, Inc. has been named Chairperson of this Construction Industry Manufacturers Association's (CIMA) Marketing Council. The Marketing Communications Council is responsible for developing educational conferences and training sessions for marketing pro- fessionals in the construction industry.

ESSROC, located in Nazareth, PA, today announced that it has acquired two cement storage and distribution ter- minals from Lafarge Corporation, Reston, VA. The transaction was final- ized earlier this month. The terminals, located in Wilder, KY and Pittsburgh, PA, are capable of handling more than 200,000 tons of cement annually.

Uniquip Corporation is pleased to announce that it has completed the pur- chase of the assets of Lull Industries. Uniquip is the parent company of TRAK International and is owned by Harbour Group Investments III, L.P. Enoch Stiff has been named President and CEO of Uniquip. Badger Bazen will be Executive Vice President of the newly named Lull Lift Corporation. All other senior man- agers of Lull and TRAK are expected to remain in their various capacities. Uniquip will maintain the unique product lines and the separate, independent dis- tribution networks of both TRAK and Lull. TRAK International, with headquar- ters in Port Washington, WI, is a manu- facturer of SKY TRAK telescopic han- diers and SCAT TRAK skid steer loaders for construction and material handling markets. Lull Lift, located in St. Paul, MN, is a manufacturer of LULL tele- scopic handlers and associated prod- ucts for construction and material han- ding markets.

Potomac Valley Brick and Supply Company, the Washington area's pre- mier supplier of architectural and resi- dential bricks and masonry products, announces the purchase of the Boral Bricks, Inc. distribution and sales center in suburban Baltimore. The purchase, effective August 30, enables Potomac Valley Brick, which is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, to sell and distribute high quality brick and masonry products to the Baltimore market. Operations will begin on September 3, 1996.
