23RD ANNUAL EXCELLENCE IN CONCRETE AND MASONRY DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION AWARDS

By James Ericson
President, Minnesota Concrete and Masonry Contractor Association

The MC&MCA is growing today through integrity, innovation, hard work and a belief in creating winning relationships every step of the way. We are surrounded every day by the rewards of these efforts, and you will see expertise that is second to none.

The MC&MCA's 23rd Annual Excellence in Concrete and Masonry Design and Construction Awards recognize this year's outstanding projects. As you view the 2005 contest winners, you will see these projects rely on time-tested principles that have served our industry for years: teamwork, strong ethics and a dedication to getting the job done on time and on budget.

As stewards of these achievements, we are grateful and mindful to do our best to live up to the standards established by those who came before us. We achieve this through recruitment and education of trades people in our industry. As Lloyd Engelsma [former President of Kraus-Anderson Companies] liked to say, we are "building buildings and building people." The continued involvement of contractors and suppliers who make their living from the trades is key to the success of the industry. It's been said, "Every man owes a part of his time and money to the business or industry in which he is engaged." Thank you for the part you have played in building our organization.
