Approaches

CONSTRUCT2009 is fast approaching. This commercial building industry event is for architects, specifiers, engineers, facility managers, building owners, CSI members, project managers, general contractors, designers and thousands of diverse commercial, institutional and industrial building professionals. It will be held in conjunction with the 53rd CSI Annual Convention, and will offer accredited education, networking opportunities, and a full exhibit hall floor for the commercial building industry. The event is a cost-effective strategy for combining educational opportunities with product and service solutions for business success. Apicella Appointed to
ICRI Committee

Frank Apicella, R&D manager for BASF Construction Chemicals, was appointed to a three-year term on the Technical Activities Committee (TAC) of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI). The TAC is responsible for development, dissemination and maintenance of technical information for ICRI members, customers and industry professionals. This includes oversight of all ICRI technical committees, the technical content of convention programs and review of technical documents prior to publication. Apicella has been a member of ICRI for 13 years and is the previous chair of the Coatings and Waterproofing Committee.

Wallace Named VP of
Sales, Tnemec

Tnemec Co. named Terry Wallace as VP of sales. Wallace will assume management of Tnemec's sales and customer service departments. While serving as VP and co-owner of coatings manufacturer Chemprobe, Wallace gained technical expertise in architectural coatings and troubleshooting moisture intrusion issues involving all types of masonry structures. Following its acquisition, Chemprobe became the masonry division of Tnemec Co., where Wallace served as director of.

MCAA's Fifth Annual Online Auction a Success

The MCAA held its fifth-annual Online Auction March 3-5 at masoncontractors.org/auction. Contractors were able to bid on several new, name-brand items for half the cost of retail, including scaffolding, mortarboards, trowels and much more. Bidding was fast and furious, but there could only be one winner for each of the great items. Many lots came down to the final seconds, making it an exciting auction for all involved.
