The 1500SJ will be on display at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011.
JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK], has unveiled innovative new products and partnerships, including the industry’s first 150-foot boom lift, at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011, March 22-26 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“JLG is excited to bring our latest offerings to CONEXPO-CON/AGG,” said Chris Mellott, JLG Industries vice-president - sales and market development for the Americas. “This event provides an international stage on which to introduce the industry to exciting new products and partnerships that demonstrate JLG’s commitment to safety, reliability and efficiency on the jobsite.”

Leading the list of new products that JLG will introduce, the 1500SJ is the first straight boom lift that elevates operators to 150 feet requiring only a weight permit for transport. The telescoping jib provides work envelope flexibility and superior horizontal and vertical reach, extending up to 25 feet. In addition, as the largest self-propelled telescopic boom available, the 1500SJ delivers industry-leading terrainability and access to more work with the industry’s best work envelope. As with all Ultra Booms, the 1500SJ delivers dual 1,000/500-pound capacity, three steering modes and advanced systems to assist in safely positioning the platform.

JLG has introduced additional new products and partnerships at Booth #210, including:

340AJ - The brand new 340AJ includes all the features of a traditional JLG aerial work platform, along with a lower cost of ownership. The lift features a 500-pound capacity, up to 34 feet lift height and 20 feet of up — and - over reach, as well as a steel hood for added durability, a Tier - 4 environmentally friendly diesel engine and industry-leading terrainability.

Compact Crawler Booms — Available in three models with working heights ranging from 45 to 75 feet, the all-new JLG Compact Crawler Booms feature a tracked wheel carriage that climbs steps and a narrow chassis for access through gates, yards, standard doorways and public buildings. The lightweight units deliver a 440-pound capacity, up to 37 foot horizontal reach and environmentally friendly electric and combustion combination power for efficient energy use.

Toucan® — A new direct electric drive in the Toucan T26E provides longer battery life and more duty cycles, allowing operators to stay on the job longer. In addition, improved JLG-style controls let operators reach up and over obstacles in tighter spaces, and an AC motor ensures quieter operation and lower maintenance costs.

Steel hoods — Most JLG engine-powered boom lifts produced after Oct. 1, 2010, feature new steel hoods which are more durable and easier to repair. The new hoods fade less over time and offer weld resistance, helping to minimize maintenance costs. Factory-approved retrofit kits will be available for engine-powered boom lifts built prior to Oct. 4, 2010.

Firestone tires — JLG and Bridgestone Americas Off Road Tires division recently collaborated to create the all-new Firestone DuraForce MH tire. As a result, all three lines of JLG telehandlers are now exclusively equipped with this new and improved tire, which delivers up to three times longer wear time, reduced inventory-carrying cost, a lower profile for less sidewall damage and a unique self-cleaning tread design for enhanced terrainability. To showcase the tire, an Indy Firestone Racing race car will be displayed at the booth.

FS60 LiftPod — This brand new model, the latest addition to the LiftPod® line of aerial work platforms, combines the portability of a ladder with the stability of a work platform. The unit’s 30 - inch base enables operators to move the LiftPod through doorways without having to take it apart. The FS60 features an enclosed platform with a 12-foot working height and 6-foot standing height, allowing workers to move hands-free in a 360-degree range of motion.

Held every three years, CONEXPO-CON/AGG showcases the latest equipment, products, services and technologies for the construction industries. The event will feature more than 2,000 exhibitors; a comprehensive education program emphasizing industry issues and trends, management and applied technology; and product concentration areas, making it easy for visitors to locate specific products, services and exhibitors of interest to them, including hundreds of new products and technologies.
