CONVENTION REPORT

ducted a mock arbitration hearing, which highlighted many of the principles presented during the day and one half seminar.

Starting on Friday morning, the Masonry Systems Marketing Committee presented its seminar, "Masonry Marketing: What is Available and How to Use It," conducted by Committee Chairman, Dick Felice, and assisted by Jim Cope. The Committee heard from a panel of speakers, including:

National Concrete Masonry Association

* Gregg Borchelt, Executive Director
Masonry Institute of Texas

* Jim Amrhein
Masonry Institute of America

* Howard Noziska
Minnesota Masonry Institute

Using a variety of audio visual equipment, the speakers made in-depth presentations of the various promotion materials currently available to the masonry industry.

Association business occupied the attendees on Saturday morning, March 14, at which time six committee meetings were held. Immediately following these sessions, President Brown convened the Board which met in executive session until 1:20 P.M. These meetings were followed by the annual President's Reception, which was held in the Anatole's Atrium lobby area. The traditional ribbon cutting by President Brown then officially opened the '87 MCAA Educational Trade Show at 2:30 P.M. This year's show featured 52 producers of masonry products, equipment, systems and methods in the Grand Ballroom.

On Sunday morning, the ever popular Masonry Industry Showcase was held under the direction of the MCAA Material Handling and Safety Committees, with Tony Luczynski acting as moderator. The following firms participated in this outdoor demonstration of rough terrain forklifts:
